Our mission

ESL Nearby exists to make learning English feel warm, playful, and possible — especially for people who are starting from the very beginning. We believe language is learned best by hearing it and speaking it, not by memorizing rules.

Meet Maya

Maya is our guide: a cheerful character who speaks every lesson out loud, sounds out words slowly, and celebrates your progress. She turns practice into something you actually look forward to.

What we build

Our app combines spoken, bite-size lessons, playful quizzes, pronunciation practice with AI feedback, and a conversational AI tutor. Teachers and contributors can add units and courses through our content studio, so the library keeps growing.
